Mid Term & More

I know...this year is flying by!  Today was the mid-term of the 3rd 9 weeks.  Please continue to practice the standards for this nine weeks at home along with any previous standards not yet mastered.  Also, ask your child about, Jan Brett, the author and illustrator.  We completed an author study of her this week and the kiddos really loved it.  Her illustrations are very beautiful and her stories are great, as well.  We read a ton of her books, wrote whether we thought The Mitten was fiction or non-fiction, pretended we lost a mitten and wrote to describe it, so someone could find it, and Monday will will write about our favorite book of Jan Brett's and explain why.  We are really becoming more and more independent writers, and I am LOVING it!  I love to see them take more ownership and not be scared to sound out words on their own phonetically.  Have a great weekend and I will see 25 smiling, healthy faces on Monday!!!!

100th Day of School

Friday was our wonderful 100th day of school!  We celebrated with learning centers all about 100.  We made 100 hats, 100 towers, 100 piece trail mix, 100 topping pizzas, 100 bead necklaces, 100 year old pics, and 100th day prop pics.  It was a blast and I have to give a special shout out to all the volunteers!  WOW!  We couldn't have pulled it off without each and every one of you!  So, enjoy  some pictures from our day below.
