100th Day

Wow!  We had the most awesome 100th day today!
First, we had a little old lady visit our class all day.  She must have been 100 years old, but she hung right in there with a class full of kindergarteners!
After reading the book The Wolf's Chicken Stew, we made chicks that ate 100 pancakes!  We didn't actually make 100 pancakes ourselves, but we did them by 10's!

We also wrote 100 words we found in our classroom, and we solved a 100's chart mystery!

Wait, there's more...
We made 100th  Day Hash.  We decorated our bags, and filled them with 10 pieces of 10 different snacks for a grand total of 100 pieces!  YUMMY!

To top it all off, we made necklaces with 100 beads and some really cool 100th Day hats!

To say we had a blast would be an understatement!

Exciting Week!

Well, we missed for our first snow day!  Unfortunately, it didn't lend itself to a lot of snowmen, snowball fights, or sledding!  I think our units on mittens and winter might have persuaded winter to give us a little snow.  Who knows?
So this week, we are focusing on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the 100th day of school!  Due to the snow day, this celebration of 100 days is now on Friday.  We will be using 100 to help us count, write, and read!  It will definitely be a fun day of learning!
Parents,
Keep working with your children!  Their Snappy Word recognition is out of this world, and I have a TON of fabulous readers!  This week we will also be completing a chapter test in math and will begin a new chapter on shapes!  I know they will ace the test!  Remember, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at your earliest convenience!  I am here for you and your child!  So, have a great week, I know we will here at school!
